Progressive Components adds to its plate sequencing product line with the introduction of its new Plate Retainer, designed to hold parting lines or retain floating mold plates.
For the mold builder, the compact design requires very little machining and no timing or fitting during assembly.
For the molder, the SRT roller within the housing operates smoothly in greaseless applications. Also, the Plate Retainer assembly is flush with the outside of the mold base to not interfere with the tie bars of the molding press.
Often, a molding machine can vibrate, causing floating plates to drift from their intended location, resulting in stuck parts and mold damage. Progressive's Plate Retainer can fit into tight spaces to secure plates in place.
Available in both inch and metric versions, CAD geometry for Progressive's new Plate Retainer is available from the company's CADalog™, a free parts library with downloads offered in multiple formats, including SolidWorks, NX, VISI, STEP, Parasolid, ACIS, and IGES.
